Atmosphere: Millie Fell Off The Fire Escape

It hasn't been that long since Atmosphere has come out with some new music but still I can't help but say, finally! I'm diggin' this song of the new EP "Leak At Will". Just gave it a few listens... seems like it's about a girl who was in a desperate situation and decided to rob a department store. Anyways give it a listen!

Hey - happened to stumble across your blog looking for info on Grieves, who I've just discovered. Thought I'd share some info on this song - it's actually a 'follow-up' to a De La Soul song called 'Millie Pulled A Pistol On Santa', about a girl who's abused by her father, who plays Santa in a department store, so shoots him in front of the kids. This is Slug's take on what happened next...

I'm sure this is just the influence of De La all over, but this track echoes Blackalicious' "Don't Let Money Change Ya" both in beat and flow as well. Also, a super sick track.
