L.E.$. – Grippin’ Grain ft. Big K.R.I.T.
Visuals from the Southern emcee’s "The Beautiful Struggle tape", which is currently out. Props for using this Willie Hutch sample (off his song Mack's Stroll). Usher sampled it for his song "Superstar" and Nipsey Hussle also used this beat for his song "The Best". Such a good beat! "Candy coated like Mike & Ike, flippin' screens like Vanna White." KRIT was smooth on this!

Way Back Wednesdays: Mobb Deep- Shook Ones Part II
Shook Ones Part II is the lead single off Mobb Deep's 1995 album "The Infamous". The song is told from the perspective of youths in the inner-city fighting for territory and in turn financial gains. Why can't rap be like this anymore?!

Kanye West: Blame Game ft. John Legend & Pusha T (Snippet)
When I saw this flick in it's entirety this scene and song stuck out for me. Love it. The sample is Aphex Twin "Avril 14th."

Inglewoods Skeme drops his 2nd Official Mixtape "Pistols & Palm Trees" featuring Tyga, Dom Kennedy, Kendrick Lamar, Ty$ and production from the likes of Boi-1da, Hit-Boy, Roosevelt & More.
The Incomparable Shakespeare: Wonderwall

Soulkast: Première salve (Produced by DJ Premier)
This is pretty dope! I was just bumpin' me some Akhenaton earlier today, wondering when I was gonna come across some more legit French hip-hop. This beat is premo!
Eyedea Live in San Diego (Unreleased)
"This is never before seen footage of eyedea (circa 2000-2001) in san diego @ the scene(shout-out 2 chongo). i've been holding onto to this footage for almost 10 years and not shown anyone.
my intentions at the time (mid-late 90's) was to document new artist/eyedea at the start of their career, and then again years later to make a documentary on them.
i will post more performance/behind the scenes/interviews/breakdancing footage of eyedea in the near future." R.I.P.

Lamont Carey: She Says She Loves Me
During the interview I did with Kendrick Lamar I asked him about this piece that's at the end of his song "Opposites Attract". He couldn't remember the name or title of the piece... I punched in a couple of the lines into google and blam! Enjoy!
Kanye West: Runaway (Short Film)
I thought this 'Ye flick was dope. I'm glad the narrating by Nicki Minaj was short-lived. I know a lot of people are gonna try and knock this and say that "this isn't music", but I feel like that was the exact point of this film. To not be afraid of something different. I really like what Kanye said about the news. Good stuff. Oh and Selita Ebanks? Wow. With that being said I say step outside the box and enjoy!

FETV: Grieves Interview Part One Of Two
"Grieves & Budo are hard at work on the upcoming Rhymesayers album, Together Apart. Yet, they are still not slowing their pace and made time to tour with Atmosphere, as well as their own headline dates. With that momentum in full swing, it seemed like a perfect time to talk to Grieves about his history and where he is going next."

Kendrick Lamar Interview
A couple weeks ago I sat down with Kendrick Lamar right before he opened up for Tech N9ne . This is a three part interview that in total is around 30 minutes long. Not too many dudes in the rap game are willing to sit down and have a lengthy conversation about hip-hop and such. K-Dot's a different breed. Make sure to check Kendrick out on his Facebook and his Twitter.
In part one Kendrick Lamar discusses his Monster Freestyle, touches on the legend that is Dash Snow, and he also speaks on the songs "R.O.T.C" and "Average Joe".
In part 2 Kendrick speaks on smoking weed, talks about how it was working with Murs and Dom Kennedy, crying in the booth for his new song "Make My City Proud", he mentions he'd like to work with Bilal, Andre 3000, Floetry, Erykah Badu and what to expect next from Black Hippy.
In part 3 K-Dot speaks on the "justice" system, the music industry and how he feels about it, the West Coast hip-hop scene and his new album.

Macklemore: Otherside Remix ft. Fences
"With sparse piano, a backing choir and strings, Macklemore and Mansfield’s stories are exposed. Two young artists who have struggled with addiction and are producing their best work sober, have crossed genres to create one of the most innovative collaborations of the year. The song that served as rehabilitation for not only Macklemore but fans alike, is heightened by Mansfield’s crisp confessional improving upon what was already a heart-aching anthem." Dope! Great emotion! Great colab! Definitely diggin' it.
Lee Bannon x Chuuwee: Like This ft. Zumbi of Zion I
Music from Lee Bannon & Chuuwee featuring Zumbi of Zion I from their upcoming project, HNR (Hot N Ready).

DJ Grandmama: Brown Skin
Ladies who inspire get mixtapes. I happened to get inspired a few months back and this is the result.
R.I.P. Eyedea
One of the Twin Cities most talented artists has passed away. Micheal "Eyedea" Larsen, of Rhymesayers, died early this morning, just a month away from his 29th birthday.
It is said that his mother, Kathy Averill, found him this morning. Here are her words via facebook."It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away," she wrote on his personal Facebook page. "At this time we kindly request your respect and our privacy as we process this devastating loss. On behalf of Mikey's family, close friends and fans, thank you."
"You say life sucks so you refuse to touch tomorrow, read my bumper sticker it says death is better cuz it sucks and swallows." Here's to Eyedea touching tomorrow and beyond.
Curren$y x Fiend: Flying Iron
The official video for Curren$y & Fiend's collab track "Flying Iron" which leaked earlier this year. Pilot Talk 2 is on the way! The sample is The Menahan Street Band "Tired of Fighting" (CuDi sampled them earlier this year for his song "Solo Dolo").
Ski Beatz: Blue & Green ft. Nesby Phips
From the up-coming Ski Beatz collection of Miles Davis remixes. Directed by Dennis Feitos.

The Big L & Jay-Z Freestyle On Stretch & Bobbito Show Extended Unreleased 10min Version
What was once seven minutes and cut off is ten minutes and in full! Classic freestyle! I know a lot of people like L's bars but this line from Hov stands out the most for me, "Your screaming, "Jesus Christ," he's back, And God knows he can rap, Me and L put rhythm on the map, So give him his dap, And me, I just take mine, Gimme those, gimme this, gimme that, fuck that." He's delivery was ill on that last little barrage of lines!
Genesis: I Just want to be a Writer (A Note to Pharrell)
"Russell McGee aka Genesis is a songwriter/ghost writer that grew up in the 7 city area in Virginia. He has worked with an aray of talented artist and has written many underground hits. He released a mixtape to show his clients his hip-hop side and planned on keeping it underground. Pressure from fans/clients of the music pushed him to re-release the mixtape to the public and write several more. "Grey Skies" (re-leased july 12th 2010), "Grey Skies 2" (dropping October 2010), R&B mixtape (not yet titled), and a Rock mixtape (not yet titled). One of the tracks (titled: "note to pharrell" off of the "Grey Skies 2" mixtape) somehow unintentionally made it to Virginia Beachs local radio station 103 Jamzs Battle on da Block hosted by DJ Bee. Additionally, the track won the battle daily by popular votes for nearly a month. This popular track gave him a little accidental fame in the 757 area. He created this track to hopefully reach out to one of the most successful producers from VA Beach, Pharrell. Brenner after hearing the song was inspired to shoot a video for the writer. There are many moves being made behind the scenes, but are left out of this BIO per request by Genesis." Smooth!

Eligh: Miss Busdriver (Rachel)
This is the first single from Eligh's GreyCrow album (dropping November 9th). Everybody's always hypin' The Grouch but I think Eligh is and always has been better. He's a real soulful cat.

Curren$y: Audio Dope 2
Track trafficking. The concept behind this video is nice! The chicks packin' up the tapes is a dope idea. I think that's dude from The Heirs that makes a cameo. Directed by Jonah Schwartz . Pilot Talk in stores now. Pilot Talk 2 in stores Nov. 16
Grieves: Shadow of a Giant
"Shadow of a Giant" is a short film by Clement & Co. featuring Grieves, an artist recently signed to Rhymesayers Entertainment. Filmed entirely during the Las Vegas stop in his recent tour with Atmosphere, "Shadow of a Giant" documents Grieves as he comments on the tour, how his signing with Rhymesayers has affected him and his expectations for his future releases. This four-minute film encapsulates the artist as he comes to grips with the shift from being a respected tour musician with a cult following to a representative of what URB Magazine calls the "best label of the decade". Produced by Clement & Co. and directed by John Bollozos."
TiRon: Down
Directed by Calmatic off that MSTRD tape. In this simplistic video TiRon kicks those rhymes while waiting for his bus. I dig it.

Who'd They Sample? Saturdays: Diz Gibran- Impossible
Beautiful piece of music. "A map is more unreal than where you've been, or how you feel, and it's impossible to tell, how important someone was, and what he might have missed out on, and how he might have changed it all, and how you might have changed it all for him." She killed it on this live version!

eLZhi: Art of Patterns/ Motown 25
"eL breaks down a "one syllable, eight pattern, with a rhyme inside a rhyme". The example used is the opening line in his "Motown 25 record."
Ask A Rapper ft. Freddie Gibbs
Freddie Gibbs sits down with XXL and answers some questions from randoms off the street Paul Mooney style. "Nobody want nobody fu**in' there daughter, whether you a fu**in' rapper, the butcher, the baker or the candle stick maker. I don't give a fu**. I Don't want nobody fu**in' my daughter Joe." Haha!
Pt. Deux
"You don't want that when you tryin' to go get your little, you know, white girl mocha latte shit ya'll be gettin'."
J. Cole: Relaxation ft, Omen & Fashawn
Beat is so smooth! J.Cole has been coming out with fire lately! "Damn thought weed supposed to calm you down, but I'm so high I could palm two clouds."

Kanye West Power/Runaway SNL
There was a time when Kanye lost me for a minute. But the music he's been coming up with lately has been blowing me away! He's so constant with his work and yet so creative. Each one of Kanye's pieces brings a uniqueness unparalleled to anything else these days. And what about Pusha T? He's been rushing back onto the scene lately.
Gilbere Forte: Dog Days Are Over (Yeasayer Remix)
For some reason I'm in a indie/ambient/alternative mood. Anyways Illadelphia representer Gilbere Forte' goes over the Yeasayer synth-rock remix of Florence and the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over."

The Very Best: Julia
The video for “Julia” (vocals by Esau Mwamwaya, emceeing by Mo Ladi and production from Radioclit), is from their debut album The Warm Heart of Africa. Radioclit? What a sick name for a producer! This beat bangs!
Gucci Mane: That’s All (Brenton Duvall Remix)
Not a Gucci Mane fan but the up and coming producer Brenton Duvall did his thing on this one.
Drumming Washing Machine
This is awesome! After having watched that video I feel like I just left a pep rally. I feel like this washing machine could easily co-star along side of Drumline's "lead actor" Nick Cannon. I wonder if the machine has a hip-hop setting?
Darren Hanible Freestyle
I first heard DH on his track titled "Fly Away". This time around he comes with somethin' off top.
Kanye West: Christian Dior Denim Flow Ft Kid Cudi, Pusha T, JohnLegend, Lloyd Banks & Ryan Leslie
God damn banger! These G.O.O.D. Fridays been comin' through lately! I'm glad 'Ye didn't cancel them due to selfish blogs leaking his music. "But I don't know why I keep calling you." True.
Who'd They Sample? Saturdays: The ILLZ- Dreams of Life & Beth
