Nas In Hawaii

I'm an asshole for missing this show! My first time in Hawaii and Nas' too?! Stuff would have been magical.

Pac Div x Nah Right x TSS x SXSW

Haha! When the girl says " Are we reppin' Austin Texas motherfu*kers what?!" Like's face is priceless! Haha and Mibbs! "I'ma give you a pass cuz I seen that ass". And Like's freestyle? Ill! "“Everybody Michael Jordan, who's Cartwright? and you aint better than that ni**a cause you part white.” Daaaamn! A shot at Drake perhaps?

Brother Ali & Rob Kelly: Speakerboxx Freestyle

While out in Dublin, Brother Ali & Rob Kelly drop some bars on Speakerboxx on RTE Pulse w/ DJ Mo-K & DJ Tando.

An ABSOLUT Collaboration w/ Jay-Z

"Continuing to collaborate with creative visionaries, ABSOLUT Vodka presents this new 15-minute short film featuring Jay-Z. The documentary, titled NY-Z, was directed by Danny Clinch and paints a rare portrait of the global hip-hop icon. Murs & 9th Wonder: The Problem Is Ft. Sick Jacken & Uncle Chucc

I like murs' verse but for some reason I'm just not feelin' this one. You be the judge.

D. Schwartz: Petestrumental Sh*t

Wow. I'm really impressed right here! This beat is nice and D's flow over it is on point. Def surprised me on this! "Sean Jewish, Drake Jewish and they gettin' paid, So the way that I see it then I should have it made".

Marco Polo & Ruste Juxx: Fu*kin Wit A Gangsta Ft. Sean Price

This is nice! Totally feelin' the flow and beat. Veddy, veddy nice! "Listen, everything I spit is real and I mean it Jigga paying Dwyane, I’m paying Gilbert Arenas".

Like picture like post

Like I said, I'd write a little something, record it and put it up. So here it is. I started on it from the time I did that last post... so what 15 minutes? Written and recorded in 15 or so minutes so don't go expecting the world from it. Anyways this is the first time I've ever posted anything I've written (lyrically). Be easy on me!

YC the Cynic: Chris Brown's Latest Hit

Michael Wilbon's favorite saying; It is what it is. Decent song. the Film Skool Rejekts kinda already went on about this but anyways. Everybody seems to be jumping on Ahmad's beat from Back In The Day (you like how I did that huh? haha). A few weeks ago I told you I was gonna write to this beat... and know it's time! I don't wanna have everyone think I'm piggy backing when I put my version out! Haha maybe I'll record somethin' real quick and post it up for the masses to point and laugh at.

Reggie Miller 30 for 30: Winning Time

Last weekend me and my buddies had the chance to watch this dope documentary on Reggie vs. the Knicks. A trip to Kauia, many bongies and seeing Anthony Mason's large self made my trip complete!

Grieves & Budo Europe to SXSW Video Blog

"I thought I was good looking last night". Haha.

LEP: Heavenz Door

Haji P: Neighborhood Kid Promo Vid

Anytime you got that Akinyele beat in the back it makes for a good song!

Nipsey Hu$$le: Hussle In The House

Nipsey makin' me wanna jump! True fact: Me and my two buddies did a performance to Kriss Kross' ill song back in the day.

Murs Talks On Leaving Warner Bros.

So I'm a little late on this but Murs leaving WB?! Such good news! I hope he goes back to his old style.... his new cd was cool but I like the old Murs. And did he just say he's releasing 10 cd's in 10 months for free??! Nice!

The Canz: 20Ten Hot Steppa

I'm not crazy about this song but it's fun none the less. It made me remember the original if nothing else. "We did this freestyle to pay Homage to one of our favorite songs growing up".

Thr33zy McFly: Back In The 3 (Video)

I posted the song a week or so ago... now the moving graphics.

Actual Proff: Genius (Prod. 9th Wonder)

Haha if you're gonna sample something from Goodwill Hunting this is the scene to sample (you'll understand after you hit play)! 9th Wonder is a "freakin' genius"!

Blu: Untitled(LovedU)2

Blu's been comin' out with some real original stuff lately. It's different but it's real and pretty cool. Check it.

Sean Price: Angel Dust

"Sean P is fearless when expressing the 7:30 aspect of the rap game. He is the man on a wire, deftly balancing himself on a tightrope suspended between the Twin Towers.

This track was something he had on the harddrive, but he didn’t have a project to attach it to hardbody. I asked P if I could get it just to fux with it. There’s enough space on the back end of this track for two or three emcees to go in, but who could match the maniacal flow of Sean Price? What rapper has the moxy and skills to talk about hallucinogens?"

NBA Jam 2010

Oh snap! I heard about this joint a minute ago but now visuals are out! There's no way it can compare to how sick the original was (which I still have for the Sega) but this one looks mighty nice!

Element: Never Change (Prod. Suff Daddy)

Dope! And the cover?? Haha!

Chip Tha Ripper: Feel Good

I love that reggae sound in the beat! Flow is decent but the drums got me movin'! Song is off off the much lauded Cleveland Show Mixtape.

Goodtalk Cinematic X Jet."

Brother Ali x Grieves x Budo in France

"Yeah in rap we call that a cypher". Haha dumb ass Grieves!

Brother Ali's Europe Tour Blog #1

Here's Ali's first installment of his tour blogs.

Marky: Victory Lap

I'm feeling this track for sure. This is my first time hearing of dude. Check out what he's got to say about the track:

"I had this track for a min now. It’s an original Kanye West produced track from the “Through The Wire” days. I received it from a mutual connect to him because I was going to possibly be doing work with them (not Kanye). Anyway – dude gave me an entire cd full of all original Kanye beats. This was in 2004, I think..

The track is about me winning my race before it starts. Nobody is in charge of my fate or destiny in my life except God. I believe that each and everyday I wake up. The music industry is full of deception and flakey business practices. I know that if I keep my eyes on the finish line then God will make sure I win like I’m suppose to. Can’t nobody block what’s coming to me. Its inevitable.

This song is spear-heading my first EP “Journey to Markyland, USA: Rest Stop 1″ Presented by 2DopeBoyz. I will be releasing 3 EP’s leading into my mixtape “43 Miles to Markyland, USA”!

Stay tuned for new music. Thanks for your continued support".

Blu: ParieArtNommee

Some of the material is graphic just in case there's any smart ass 12 year old's out there that check my site (just tell mom you'll do your homework in a minute).

Murs On Paid Dues Line Up

I need to go to this! Hey Murs, can a dude get the hook up so I can cover this show or what?! Haha check out what Murs has to say... pretty cool stuff.

Inspectah Deck: The Champion

"Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck's video for the Alchemist produced single "The Champion", off of Deck's highly anticipated album "Manifesto" which hits stores and iTunes March 23rd.

The video is directed by Matt Alonzo (Skee.TV), who is known for his work with The Game & Travis Barker, Cypress Hill, Soulja Boy, New Boyz and more.

The Champion video features cameos from The Alchemist, RZA and Clifton Powell".

R.I.P. Jun Seba aka Nujabes

"Jun Seba
, (February 19, 1974 – February 26, 2010) was a Japanese hip-hop producer and DJ who recorded under the name Nujabes. His alias was simply his name "sebajun" spelled backwards. Nujabes was also owner of the Shibuya record stores, T Records and Guinness Records and founder of the independent label Hydeout Productions.

On February 26, 2010, Jun Seba was involved in a traffic accident upon exiting the Shuto Expressway late at night. He died at a hospital in Shibuya Ward after failed efforts to revive him. He was 36 years old. There was a private burial with only family in attendance. Hydeout Productions has stated that Nujabes has left behind tracks, which they plan to release in the near future." Source-Wikipedia

A brilliant young man. I discovered Nujabes a few years back and when I did I was over joyed. Nujabes produced some of hip-hop's most beautiful songs. He will be missed.

Pac Div: Shut Up Ft. The Cool Kids

Official video for Pac Div’s Shut Up off The Church League Champions Mixtape. Not really feelin' it...

Clockwork: Office Musik Ft. Lil Wayne

This is actually pretty dope!

Gorilla Zoe: Day Dreamer

Finally! I posted about this ILLFONICS beat a while back (HERE) and have been waiting to see what was happening with it ever since. Figures that a half of a year goes by... with no news... I start to write some lyrics to the beat and then Zoe releases a music video.... Anyways a little disappointed with the song. The beat is insane! Zoe didn't really do it justice in my opinion. I think KuDi woulda killed this beat... or even Drake. Anyways check it.

You Take One Sample And Then You Make A Decision

It's Friday and I want to post a sample! Just couldn't wait the 12 hours or whatever to do this on my normal day of Saturday. Slug sampled the Ohio Players song "Our Love Has Died" for his song "Travel Remix". Check both of em out.

P.S. The header of this post is a Curb Your Enthusiasm quote... love that show!

Killah Priest: B.I.B.L.E.

So I'm a decade or so late on this one but I had to post it! Such a griping song. Blows me out of the water every time I hear it. "B.I.B.L.E." is an acronym for: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Killah def goes deep on this one! This song contains a sample from the Ohio Players titled "Our Love Has Died" (I'll be posting about them in a few minutes here).

Curren$y: Breakfast

Another CC video if you didn't believe me.... they're on the right track! "Some of the good things that weed can do. PSA. Let me start shootin' them fuckin' commercials". Haha nice.

The Heirs: Smokin' Mirrors Part 2

I faux with Creative Control (doesn't really make sense but expand your mind a little bit)! They got a lot of cool stuff happening over there. Def make sure and check it out.

Thr33zy McFly: Back In The 3

Wow he sounds a lot like Ahmad! I wrote a verse or two to this song a while back... and I'm inspired to pick the pen up again!

KiD CuDi: Pursuit Of Happiness (Alternate Video)

Wow I can't believe they didn't go with this one! Soo much better than the original video in my opinion (or IMO as the internet cool kids say). Check it.

Blu: Amnesia

Official! Dunno how I feel about this one though.....

CookBook & Uno Mas Ft. Evidence: When You Rcok & Roll

New single from "C & U Music Factory" featuring Evidence (Dilated Peoples; Rhymesayers), starring Styliztik Jones. Track Produced by J.J. Brown (Gym Class Heroes, Louis Logic).

Soulcrate Music: Electric Heavy Glow

The official video for Soulcrate Music "Electric Heavy Glow". I feel like detective David Mills in the movie Seven (or Se7en if you will... those tricky movie executives) "What's in the box?!".

Nipsey Hu$$le: The Hustle

Snippet alert! Nipsey is clean on this one. People been saying Hu$$le is the "next Snoop"... why cuz he's skinny and wears plaid? Every person is his own.... nobody should have to live up to anyone else... I want more and you might too...

D/WILL's Cartoon Beat Emporium: Ren & Stimpy

I had to post this joint! I mean a flipped beat of Ren & Stimpy? Dopeness. And yes I still have a Stimpy plush doll that fart's every time you squeeze his stomach.

"Producer D/WILL chops and reworks some of his all time fav cartoons-- and also provides hip hop back drops for a solid head nod. Cartoon Beat Emporium will be the start of D/WILL instrumental series."

Elzhi: Deep

This is the first time I've heard of dude. It's getting a lot of positive feedback out there... I'm too hungover to really get "Deep" right now so I'ma have to trust the consensus.

Grieves Tour Video

To quote Vince Vaughn in Swingers, "Our little baby's all growns up". And no Vince (aka Trent Walker), Grieves is the asshole in the bar!

Curren$y: Address Ft. Stalley

Official video for the Ski Beatz-produced track from his upcoming 24 Hour Karate School, dropping March 30th. Dopeness! Curren$y has got a little cash, a little fame, but claims, "aint' nothin' changed but the address". The beat is oh so nice.

Lupe Fiasco: Beautiful Lazers

While in Sydney, Australia, Lupe performed a cut off of
Lasers. He gets pretty deep before performing the song. I like!

KiD CuDi: Know Why

I heard CuDi recorded this back in '08. Oh well... check it out anyways.

Diabolic: I Dont Wanna Rhyme

"First single off Diabolic’s upcoming debut album, Liar & a Theif, which drops April 6th on Viper Records. Featuring Immortal Technique, Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz and more."

Wow! Dude is such a dope rhymer! I'm feelin' this one for sure.

Mayer Hawthorne: I Wish It Would Rain

So I'm sittin here at my buddies house... looking for new music to put up.. playing tons of songs and not liking any of them (trial and error is a B****!)and I came across this song. About a minute into the song my buddy says "this is a rap song?". And there you have it... everybody is always trying to put stuff in boxes and tape them up tight! Is this a rap song? Not really. But it's music.. who cares? Now I'm here thinking to myself and getting all deep on this subject while my buddy plays Fifa 10 (good game by the way). Anyways check out Mayor and his MUSIC.

Murs: "The Problem Is" Behind The scenes

Behind the scenes footy of Murs and 9th Wonder's music video "The Problem Is" featuring Sick Jacken & Uncle Chucc. Murs album Forbever in stores March 30th... that was fast.

DaVinci: What You Finna Do

"As the March 9th release date for DaVinci’s debut album, The Day The Turf Stood Still, approaches, the rising Fillmore District emcee is proud to release the video for the lead single from the album for the song, “What You Finna Do.” Shot in black and white and featuring powerful visuals throughout, DaVinci uses the video as a means to drive home the song’s message as he speaks on the powerful and hotly debated topic of gentrification, an issue not only affecting his own neighborhood but urban areas across the country. Speaking on his inspirations for penning the song, DaVinci explains, “I was inspired to write this song to address an open ended question to the neglected inner-city communities world wide.” The video’s chilling depiction follows DaVinci through his home city, or at least the city that used to feel like home".

Ron Contour: Glad

This isn't exactly what I normally post on here but I really liked the video! Why can't mainstream guys have cool videos like this? The song was cool, not great, but the video kept me hooked (thinking to myself, "what's the deal with the bag on that guys head?"). Art is art wether in song or video and I post art. This is Ron's third album and it's titled, Saffron.
